"Day’s Growing"
Contemporar and Aluvial, Cluj-Napoca, Romania
2025
Curator: Székely Sebestyén
Coordinated by the Aluvial gallery, the exhibition is conceived as a meditation inspired by the reality of the season we find ourselves in.
During the harsh winter months, the days are too short, the darkness too long, the energy too scarce, and the fatigue overwhelming.
However, during this period, hope comes from the awareness that the days are gradually growing longer.
The exhibition is a return to roots, a search through time, space, and diversity for latent values.
The juxtaposition of artworks and objects of other natures (documentary, scientific, literary, ethnographic, etc.), thus a transdisciplinary approach, is specific to Aluvial's collection method.
A selection of these objects will be presented in the exhibition like in a Kunstkammer, as fragments of an unwritten narrative, spoken only hesitantly. It is time for this cabinet of curiosities to not be constructed analytically, in line with positivism that seeks to dominate and exploit the world, but to become a repository of magical pursuits.
The objects in the exhibition represent resources hidden in the roots of humanity, which we encourage to awaken.
